Privacy Policy

Lost Mountain Bassmasters is a BASS Nation fishing club. This page explains what lostmountainbassmasters.com keeps about members and visitors, who can see it, and why. The short version: the club keeps what it needs to run tournaments, nothing is sold, and there are no advertising or tracking cookies.

What anyone can see

  • Anglers' names, nicknames and the profile photos members choose to add.
  • Tournament results: fish, weights, places, points, big fish, and which boat each angler fished in.
  • Season standings, club records and the Trophy Room, all worked out from those results.
  • A member's bio and social links, if they add them.

What only signed-in members see

  • The club directory, with members' phone numbers and email addresses.
  • Polls, "are you fishing?" answers, boat pairings for upcoming tournaments, and the conditions log.

What the club keeps

  • Your account. Name, email address, and your role in the club. If you set a password, only a scrambled one-way version of it is stored, never the password itself.
  • Your profile. Whatever you add: photo, bio, phone number, and links to Facebook, Instagram or YouTube.
  • Tournament records. The results the tournament director enters, whether your entry fee was marked paid, and any late arrival.
  • What you tell the club. Your poll votes, your answers about fishing each tournament, and anything you write in the conditions questionnaire.
  • Sign-ins. When you last signed in and how many times, and the pages you read while signed in, so the club can see who is using the site.
  • Visitor counts. For everyone, signed in or not: the page, the date, the kind of device, and the site that sent you here. Visitors who are not signed in are counted with a one-way code made from their internet address and browser, which changes every day, so nobody can be followed from one day to the next. These counts are deleted after 13 months.

Email

The site emails members on the current roster about club business: sign-in links, polls and their results, "are you fishing?" requests and reminders, boat pairings, and a short questionnaire after a tournament. It does not send marketing email and does not share your address with anyone for that.

Who else handles it

Nothing is sold, rented or traded. A few services run parts of the site for the club:

  • Fly.io hosts the site and its database.
  • Resend delivers the club's emails.
  • Tigris stores the continuous backup of the database. The club also keeps its own backup copies.
  • Google Fonts supplies the site's typefaces, so your browser fetches them from Google, which sees your internet address as it does for any website that uses them.

Weather and water readings on the conditions pages are fetched by the club's server from public sources. Your browser does not contact those sources, and nothing about you is sent to them. Links to Facebook and other sites only take you there when you tap them.

Cookies

The site sets only the cookies it needs to work:

  • Staying signed in (lmbm_session). Set when a member signs in, and ends after 90 days without a visit or when you sign out.
  • Not counting a device (lmbm_nocount). Set only on the club's own phones and computers, so their visits are left out of the visitor counts.

There are no advertising, analytics or social media cookies. Your browser also keeps two small notes on your own device: that you have seen the cookie notice, and, on the weigh-in screen, results that have not saved yet because of weak signal.

How long it is kept

Your account and profile are kept while you are with the club, and you can ask for them to be removed at any time. Tournament results are the club's permanent history, so names and results stay in the record after a member leaves. Visitor counts are deleted after 13 months.

Your choices

  • Change or remove your photo, bio, phone number and links yourself, from your profile.
  • Ask the club to correct anything that is wrong, or to remove your account.
  • Stop the club's emails by asking to be taken off the roster.

Children

The site is for club members and is not meant for children under 13. The club does not knowingly collect their information.

Keeping it safe

The site runs over an encrypted connection, members' pages sit behind sign-in, passwords are stored one-way, and repeated sign-in attempts are slowed down. No website is perfectly secure, but the club keeps as little as it needs.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.

Questions

Message the club on its Facebook page, or ask the tournament director at any tournament. See also the Terms of Use.
