About the club

Lost Mountain Bassmasters is a BASS Nation club fishing out of north and west Georgia.

One tournament a month, October through September, on Georgia water and the big lakes over the line in Alabama and Tennessee. Boaters and co-anglers fish the same points race, and the top of the standings goes to the state qualifier.

Who Georgia BASS Nation are

Georgia BASS Nation is the state arm of B.A.S.S. Nation, and Lost Mountain Bassmasters is one of its member clubs. The state championship above is theirs, and it is what the top of our standings fishes for: finish the season high enough and you are on the team that represents the club at the state tournament.

How a season works

The season runs from October through September. Every tournament is one list: boaters and co-anglers weigh in together and fish the same points race. This season 18 anglers are on the roster, 12 boaters and 6 co-anglers.

  • 10 points for fishing, before a fish hits the scale
  • 1 point per fish, and 1 more for every one that goes back alive
  • 0.5 per pound of net weight, with 0.25 lb off for a dead fish
  • 16 minus your place, so first is worth 15
  • 1 point for the big fish of the day

The top 6 go to the state qualifier, or the top 12 in a season with more than 22 anglers. One of them must be a co-angler: if they are all boaters, the last spot goes to the highest co-angler.

Where we fish

Home water is north and west Georgia, and the club crosses the line into Alabama and Tennessee for the bigger lakes. Most tournaments are one day; now and then the club fishes a two-day event with both days weighed together.
